As reported by Wicked Local Plymouth:
PLYMOUTH – South Shore Community Action Council recently hosted a Japanese reporter from Asahi Shimbun, a Japanese daily newspaper with bureaus across the globe, including offices in New York and Washington D.C.
Asahi Shimbun’s Life and Culture staff writer, and 2016 fellow of the Ave Fellowship Program for Journalists, Kumiko Nakatsuka visited South Shore Community Action Council (SSCAC) in Plymouth to learn more about childhood poverty. Child poverty is a growing social problem in Japan, so much so that over 300 “children cafes” are now operating across the country.
